The USS Orca Sets Sail

At long last, I managed to finalize the design for the USS Orca, a vessel that's half-submarine, half-aircraft carrier for my Agents comics. Like most of the content featured in my comics, it'll be no doubt that this'll be modeled in Blender once this is fully fleshed out.

Originally, the concept was that the planes would be loaded into torpedos and fired out of the bow, but now the concept is that the bow that makes up the mouth of the Orca opens up when the sub is on the surface and launches planes using a catapult just like any other carrier.

For Monster Monday, the prompt was to make a Doctor Who creature. That wasn't necessarily what I was aiming for here, per se, but sticking with the sci-fi aspect, I made Frenzy, one of the crooks from the LEGO Space Police theme. He's loves any kind of valuables, and since he has 4 arms, he can easily escape with them. Despite this, Frenzy isn't a very good strategist when it comes to heists. In fact, the Space Police caught him hiding a safe full of gold when he was using an ice cream stand as a coverup and was arrested. Regardless of his lack of thinking things through, Frenzy still proves to be useful to the group of criminals he's a part of; the Black Hole Gang.

For Figure Tuesday, I worked on some more Agents characters. This is Tommy Neil. Codename, Agent Tommy. He's been in the Agents for almost as long as me (Agent Hotman) and like his colleague Agent Adam, his choice of weaponry is slightly different compared to other agents.

I also began making units or flight teams for the Agents. Just like how military branches have fighter squadrons. The United States Navy, for example, have the Fighting Checkmates. In the Agents' units, pilots are organized into these units based on their aircraft. The Buzzards fly the F-18 Hornet and the EA-18G Growler, the Caracals fly the F-14 Tomcat, and the Redtail Hawks fly the F-22 Raptor and the F-35 Lightning II.

Yesterday, I began texturing my first fully unwrapped model in Mixer: A 30-06 Springfield Blank, a blank cartridge fired from the M1 Garand rifle.
Overall, this week was busy and productive for me. That said, that's all I got for this week!
