More Organized Week

Having gotten things back under control, I've begun looking at what jobs there are to offer on LinkedIn as a vehicle designer or weapon designer.

Now, I have a history lesson or two for you all...

This week was all about the RMS Titanic, the infamous British ocean liner that sank on her maiden voyage after hitting an iceberg. This photo is of her leaving the docks of Southampton, England on April 10th, 1912.

This photo here is of Titanic arriving in Cherbourg, France to drop off and pick up more passengers.

The next day on April 11th, 1912, Titanic made her second stop in Queenstown, Ireland (Now called Cobh) to drop off and pick up even more passengers. It was from Queenstown where she would sail out across the Atlantic Ocean to New York City.

I bring up the Titanic because it's not only a topic that interests me despite the tragedy of the disaster, but because I've begun modeling the ship in Blender; made in honor of this legendary ocean liner.

After showing my "rough draft" to Chris, he reminded me that references are always the best to use in modeling. So I've started redoing my Titanic model. So far, I've only got the hull, or to put it more accurately, the keel made.

For Monster Monday, since it was freestyle, I made the Mutant Squid from the LEGO Alpha Team theme's series "Mission: Deep Sea," in which the main villain Ogel has taken a squid, turned it into a cyborg, and furthermore, hollowed the squid out and made it into a submersible of some sort. What I'm proud of in this picture is how I gave off the effect that the squid is underwater by using a layer of blue with low opacity.

For Figure Tuesday, I made a new picture of my OC Agent Adam. As I did so, I edited his arsenal of weaponry.

Just like any other agent, Adam's sidearm of choice is the Auto-9 machine pistol.

While most agents, including myself, use the Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun, Agent Adam preferably uses the Remington 870 shotgun. This variant of the 870 has a pistol grip, a foldable stock, and a clamp on the foldable stock that holds extra shells.

Place of origin: America

Magazine: 7 rounds

Range: 55 yards, 77-87 yards with slugs

Caliber: 12 gauge

Extra Features: Pump-Action, Pistol Grip, Foldable Stock, Iron Sights, Wooden Finishing, Spare Shell Clamp.

Type: Shotgun

The idea of the Remington 870 shotgun being fit with a foldable stock, pistol grip, and shells clamp was inspired by "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" (1991) where Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) uses the shotgun in the exact same configuration during the fight scene in the steel mill.

She racks it with 1 hand...

and fires it at the T-1000 (Robert Patrick) continuously.

The next weapon Agent Adam has is the Heckler and Koch HK416.

Place of origin: Germany

Magazine: 30 rounds

Range: 330 yards

Caliber: 5.56x45mm NATO

Fire Rate: 700-900rpm

Extra Features: Full-Auto and Semi-Auto Options, Picatinny Rail, Muzzle Brake, Silencer-Compatible Muzzle, Gas-Operated Short-Stroke Piston, Rotating Bolt, Vertical Foregrip, Optional Removable Gas Block-Mounted Flip-Up Front Sight Post.

Type: Assault Rifle

The final weapon Agent Adam has is the McMillan TAC-338A.

Place of origin: America

Magazine: 5 rounds

Range: 1,750 yards

Caliber: .338 Lapua Magnum

Extra Features: Bolt-Action, Muzzle Brake, Silencer-Compatible Muzzle, Picatinny Rail, Harris Bipod, Adjustable Cheek Rest, MIRS Night Vision Rail, AN/PVS-22 Universal Night Sight.

Type: Sniper Rifle

This was inspired by the rifle with the exact same attachments that was used by US Navy Seal sniper Chris Kyle. The picture above shows how it's seen in the movie "American Sniper" (2014)

In the movie, actor Bradley Cooper plays the role of Chris Kyle and here, we see him taking up a position with the McMillan TAC-338A rifle. Note that the night vision sight is currently not mounted on the scope because it's daytime.

In 2008, Chris Kyle was on a tour in Iraq and shot an enemy sniper 2,112 yards away, which was about twice as much as the TAC-338A's maximum range. This feat is one of the reasons he's been deemed the deadliest sniper in US military history.

For 3D Art Jam Thursday, I worked on my Titanic model a bit more.

And that's all I have to share for this week. As of today, April 14th, 1912 would be the last day for the RMS Titanic; the last day she would ever see the light of day or any sunlight; the final sunset that would subsequently lead to the night of the collision and the day she would sink in the early morning hours of April 15th. So watch out...

BECAUSE HERE COMES THE ICEBERG!!!
